I’ve been trying to find something to hang on this blank wall in the living room. I’ve looked, but I just can’t find anything that I like or that I would still like six months from now. A few months ago, we pulled out a really large piece of butcher type of paper that was part of some packaging we saved, and we let the three year old just go at it with her paints. It took forever to dry because kids that age tend to layer on a lot of paint in the same areas, but once it was dried, it was actually a pretty nice piece of abstract art. We ended up hanging it up over her brother’s crib.

Anyway, I tell that story because I’m planning on using Happy Together’s tutorial on how to create textured wall art to have my three year old artist paint another masterpiece for me to hang on that blank living room wall. The textured look will give it just the right “pop” it needs, and it’ll be extra special and personal because, well, because my kid created it.

You can put any type of image behind the marbles, which means you can get really creative and use these in a lot of different ways. Make ones with one letter on each marble to spell out words, and then use them to label your file cabinet drawers. Put photos behind them to personalize them for a special holiday or as favors or decorative items for weddings, bridal and baby showers.
